I found a lot of Javascript code snippets, widgets, gadgets or whatever you want to call them. The popular few lines of code to be added to the code of your Websites and Blogs that generate fancy buttons, dynamic content, track everything people do on your server or hack the users computer if he has his security settings configured wrong.
What I did not find was a single API. APIs (Application Progrogramming Interfaces) for the Web are usually Web Services. The most popular Types of Web Services are the SOAP/WSDL and the XML-RPC based Web Services, but SAX2, REST, JAX-RPC etc. are also used.
I added to the comment the links to various SE and Blogging API's and a link to Developer Resources for Web Services Development which might be helpful for you. What they should, at least to understand what an API is and what is not.
Now the burning question. Here is the real API stuff?
Do you have any?
Cheers,
