In response to, "Flight of the Navigator," this flight has been delayed until further notice.
Has anyone else had issues with NS? When 8.0 came out, that version would pretty much never work for me, and 8.1 has been more successful; however, it still has a few issues in my opinion.
Well, at least they are making developments to produce something better... or at least we hope.
We "hope" they are making something better. In my opinion, the last good thing about Netscape was Communicator 4.8 and that's nearly a decade ago. Why AOL wants to mess about with Netscape is beyond me but as I said, for nostalgia's sake I'll stick around. I have absolutely no expectations for anything more than a customized, playing-catchup of Firefox, browser but I may have to eat my words (which would be fine with me). Somehow, I doubt it though.
I always used Netscape Navigator years before. But in the last time I really heard nothing from new versions, so I'm very surprised about this news! Very Good!
that's cool, really i hadn't no idea about it. First time i am visiting this site it has really a great info for the people who wants daily updating. It's amazing. Thank you!
Someone should remind Firefox fanatics that the browser they use has roots in Netscape. Without Netscape, Firefox couldn't exist. It could be a hobbyist open source browser going nowhere.
Old is good... Navigator is almost tied to Nescape ..
I remember the last time i used to call it Navigator all the time instead of Netscape. lol. thats good.
Actually it is easier to remember Navigator.
Oh i Like Netscape Communicator
Not Navigator
Great idea to return to the old name. Maybe it may helps to beocme more sophisticated again Firefox and IE. Good luck!
I think Netscape should also maintain Mozilla Seamonkey as "Netscape Communicator" 9.
There are many, many people still using Netscape 7.2 because they like "communicator" (all in one) way of doing things and they trust to Netscape brand.
I always used NN years before. I like all Netscape products (especially Communicator). Good luck!!!
I think you should call it "Nestscape Communicator 9", of course, adding to it first the old programs that were included in the superb communicator, such as THE MAIL SERVER.
So what about the compatability with vista?
I would like to know if Netscape 9 is an integrated package like Netscape 7.2 which I use today. I tried Seamonkey but have had some difficulties integrating plug-ins like Adobe shockwave or flash player in Seamonkey. Also, even if it is noticeably faster than Netscape 7.2 I have had a lot of program crashes.
If netscape 9 will avoid crashes, will have the same functionality as the 7.2 version and be as fast as Seamonkey I would be very happy with it. But Netscape mail, Composer and AIM should be components integrable at libitum.
