Well done. It is a great progress compare to the previous version.
I too agree that Netscape needs it's email applications. I am considering alternate browser options because of it, my old 7.2 version is acting up since it loaded the trial beta.
Netscape 7.2 users may upgrade to SeaMonkey, which is more or less the same thing (minus AOL IM).

I wiil not up-grade Netsape until the newer versions include the e-mail tool. Otherwise, one has to switch back and forth between browsers, too great a nuisance. Separating e-mail from browsing was one of the dumbest corporate decisions ever made; it must have been done by people who are isolated from the demands of the real world. And now I notice, maybe to pressure users to upgrade, or to punish them for not doing so, the search capability has been removed from NS 7.1 . But the only result will be to force us to switch to an alternate server.
Nice work:)
Small problems with too small fonts in menus on Linux, but I solved it myself.
I kept 7.2 on my computer. I also have 8.1.3 on my computer. I use 7.2 for my e-mail, and 8.1.3 for surfing. That's what the people at Netscape told me to do, to keep my existing e-maill account. I will upgrade to NS 9, after they work the "bugs" out, usally, about one month.
Ditto on the email tool. I am still using 7.2, but it is becoming unstable. I may have to move to another browser entirely.
I, too, would like to see a return to the mail tool in Netscape. Likewise, I have not upgraded from v. 7.2 because of this omission. I have been with Netscape since its inception and would hate to switch . . . but this is a fatal flaw.
I often get the warning that a new version of Netscape 8 is available. After downloading it, it offers me to "update" my Netscape 7.2 installation. That is really scary because i do not want to loose my Netscape mail client. So i bail out of the update all together. Does anyone know why Seamonkey loads much faster than Netscape? Is there too much background trafic with AOL? One welcome news i saw was, that Netscape 9 will be available in Linux, that was another big let down earlier.
Still try to be loyal after all those years:

I honestly thought it was just me ... I have 7 for my mail and 8 for everything else- but I can't contact companies from the 8 due to no e-mail address on 8. For some reason my old 7 doesn't "fit" on the screen any more so It's not readable. I will try Sea Monkey! thanks for the info. J
wow, it looks good . i will try it nwo
I'm terrified of AOL Malware and options I don't want contaminating my Browser. Lack of intergrated mail is quite disappointing, too.
The merger was the beginning of the end...
Congrats ! Hope Navigator will recover some popularity with this new release !
Since most of you are disappointed that Netscape 9 does not have a built in e-mail client, and are sticking with Netscape 7 because of that, you should upgrade to SeaMonkey. It works in much the same way as Netscape 7, and all components are kept up to date. Sticking with Netscape 7 as your browser leaves you vulnerable to all it's security holes. These holes will not be patched, as this version is now obsolete and is no longer maintained by Netscape.

But the thing is that it may likes the other peoples too. Any guess why??
