I've been using a Netscape browser since 1994. I've been using Netscape 7 for many years but am growing so tired of incompatibility with so many websites that I had to upgrade (but kept 7.2's email program). I did not like 8 when I tried it a while back and so I opted to try 9.2. My gawd...what a memory leak! The leak is so bad that my system crawls to a near stop. Navigator memory usage can and has ballooned to 150000 K plus in a very short period of time Talk about a hog! The cursor won't move, pages won't load, there's a 20 second to 60 second delay to do anything and my system just about freezes. I haven't seen that since I was running a 286 with an overprocessor back in the early 90's for crying out loud! I end up having to shut Netscape 9.2 down and then bring it up again so that I can continue surfing. Anyone have any idea when they might fix this. I can't believe they'd put this thing out there with such a humongous leak. It's not like it's that hard to see. This grandma saw it on the first test drive. Has anyone else encountered this? I am running an MPC with XP Pro & SP 2, Pentium 4, 3.4 GHz Dual CPU and a Gig of memory.
I've been using Netscape forever. I had been using Netscape 8.x and I am very pleased that ,so far, 9.2 doesn't seem to have the stability problems which I was having with 8.1 (i.e. - peaking the processor, freezing up, etc.).
However, I am REALLY missing the site controls. The options also seem to be TOO simplistic now, as I can no longer customize tabbing behavior the way I could with Nav.8. In addition, even though I have "Remember Passwords for Sites" checked, Navigator never fills anything in... And I know this is petty, but could they PLEASE make a decision on whether they want "Open Link In New Window" OR "Open Link In New Tab" to be at the top of the right-click context bar??! Every time I get used to it one way, they change it!
I am going to keep using 9.2 because of its stability, but it just seems like they substituted all the features that I actually use (Site Control, Login Bar, etc.) for a bunch of junk I'll NEVER use.

I installed 9 yesterday. Today my machine was crawling. Task manager showed the new netscape had locked down well over 1 gig of memory. I was paging like crazy. Clicking a single link showed netscape grabing another huge memory segment (~80 megs). So I had to shut it down and reboot.
Nice to see that this version is available for the Mac. Safari acts weird sometimes.

I'm first day at work after vacations and first thing I'm gonna do is to download Navigator 9 Beta 2 and give it a try now. Although it's already an old news, this is the first time I actually got yo knwo about the release. Thanks guys, keep my favorite browser alive - I've been with you since Mosaic days :)
i don't know if you've discussed this but i found it pretty upsetting that the new browser just showed up and changed my task bar and all my bookmarks are gone! can someone respond back about it?
