Thanks for making to so simple to move our data. Firefox Rocks.
How do we get the Link Pad in Netscape to appear in Firefox?
It's the one I started with so I didn't have to be trapped by the "M" word. And so it goes, I will now use Seamonkey so I'm not trapped by either the "T" or "F" words. Here goes...
I have been elevated. After a simple download of Seamonkey and a quick installation with just a couple of clicks of the mouse, not only do I have my old netscape-ish browser, mail client, composer and address book, along with a couple other options, it also picked up my bookmarks, bookmark quick link bar, filled my address book and sent me a cute new logo at the top right - all without having to have followed instructions in a faq!
Nice. Thank you.
Thanks for the informative article
What a load of crap. I downloaded Firefox 2 and Thunderbird but am useing Netscape Navigator 7.0 with multible profiles. When I imported my profile it only did my profile and I don't want my kids to see some of the stuff that I have and my kids have their own profiles and preferencws
So explain how to fix this problem
Thank you for the migration insight. I have been a faithful Netscape user for many years. I have a problem. I have several thousand emails that I have opened and saved as Netscape email (in my mail boxes). Is there any way that I can store these opened emails on an external HD? I have lots of information that I *really* do not want to lose. I am physically disabled and have developed a near vision impairment. Many of the emails are related to my personal medical records. My family has promptd me to use Firefox for over two years. Firfox is where I'll be headed. I don't need to be lectured regarding my poor decision to remain with Netscape. I stayed so long becasue my familiarity compensated for my declining vision. Losing my "saved" email would be costly to me in several ways. I would truly appreciate any help. Thanks for any help and thanks to the people from Netscape that made my life more tolerable through their work. ~Paul
Your article on adopting Firefox and Thunderbird for my browser and e-mail needs were exactly what I needed to hear.
This article was exactly what I needed to hear.
Ewwwww... I would never use FireFox! FireFox is the cause of beautiful NetScape's death! I really wished cold hearted FireFox didn't take over! My husband was a FireFox user... I completely removed it! This is sublimitable advertisement for FireFox themselves. They have the nerve to say Microsoft is cold hearted for having Internet Explorer on their OS? Well, it's not fair FireFox ruins competition! They are no better. Somehow, I think Firefox is as cold hearted to use different names like ThunderBird or Flock. Since NetScape is dying... I may have to stick with the winners... Internet Explorer. I will continue to use Netscape since it has been a trusted browser for many years throughout my childhood.
I can't figure out how to move my email to aol since I can't access my netscape.net account
How about migrating or converting Netscape 7.x and Communicator 4x to Thunderbird? I've found no directions or help.
I have been using Netscape 4.0 for several years and have resisted using other e-mail browsers becaue of the simplicity and uncluttered viewing. Since I am practically illiterate in downloading and responding to where to put this and that I am terrified of switching to Mozilla Firefox or any other browser. Sad, sad day to see such a user friendly tool sink into the trashbin of history.
Greeting's folks, i am sorry to read that Netscape is finally going " off air "...
I have been using Netscape since the early 90's , in particular, the e-mail facility.
Netscape " e-mail " service is still the best/easiest/got the best facilities in it, of all
of the other email portals that i have used , INCLUDING " THUNDERBIRD ".....
i WON'T USE ANY OF THE microsoft FACILITIES ,,, AT ALL,,, NEVER....
How can i continue to access a service as good as NETSCAPE E-MAIL/Communicator , or, how
can i transfer all of my existint e-mails to another e-mail thru' mozilla etc. ???
I am accessing this e-mail thru' Netscape 7:2.
cheers from Phillip.
Whilst it isn't mentioned, can I assume the above relates to XP?
Anybody assist with how to do this using Vista as the OS?
Thanks in advance.
